2/10/2018, starts 2:00 PM

LAKEPORT--Lake County Library’s Know Lake County features Fire Station 88.1 a short documentary film by Marnie Crawford Samuelson and Shane Hofeldt. The free program will take place February 10 at 2:00 p.m.at the Lakeport branch of the Lake County Library, 1425 N. High St.

Samuelson will be present to introduce and discuss Fire Station 88.1 which chronicles a group of volunteer programmers at Lake County’s community radio station KPFZ who spontaneously took to the airwaves and began broadcasting emergency information during and after the Valley Fire. The film is an homage to the power of the human voice. KPFZ volunteers will share their experiences of the Valley Fire.

Guests from all arenas of local emergency response and recovery services are invited to attend and share their experiences.

Filmmaker Marnie Crawford Samuelson says she’s drawn to book projects where words and pictures are both important. Images and text are independent and intertwined. She has collaborated on books, produced short films and has had photos published in numerous magazines.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Lake County Library. The library is located at 1425 N. High St. For more information call 263-8817.
