This newsletter describes the 2009 Housing Element update and was mailed to all households in the City.

Housing Element Update ~ Initial Study & Negative Declaration (4.4MB)
The City has reviewed and considered the proposed Housing Element update and has determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment, with substantial supporting evidence provided in the Initial Study. The City hereby prepares and proposes to adopt a Negative Declaration for this project.

Housing Element Update 2009 ~ Revised Draft (3.3MB)
The Revised Draft Housing Element has been reviewed and approved by the State Department of Housing and Community Development. As a result of the revisions made to the Draft Housing Element, the State has indicated that the "draft element will comply with State housing element law when adopted and submitted to the Department." The public is invited to provide comments on the Revised Draft Housing Element at the upcoming public hearings which are scheduled to take place on MONDAY October 19, 2009 at the Planning Commission meeting starting at 6:00 pm and November 3, 2009 at the City Council meeting starting at 6:00 pm. Both public hearings will be held at Lakeport City Hall.
